I'm in my 26th year of education and have spent 23 in Lee's Summit working with special needs children.
Crusing the strip, trips on the volleyball bus to games and parties at T-Lane, The Ruins and Jesus Saves! Some of my best memories were parties at my house when my parents had gone out for the evening and our whole street would be lined with cars. We tortured my poor little brother at those parties.
Other memories:
1. Having the pass key to Best Western and partying in a room until Eleanor Poertner would drag Joyce and I out of there and take us home.
2. Hanging the homecoming float bird from the tree in front of school and putting the toilet on the front steps after we lost to the Sr. class for best float.
3. Taking 2 lunch shifts during the split lunch shift- my only detention at S-C.
4. Lifeguarding at Liberty with Eric. B., Michael R., David L., Adam, Lisa and having parties after closing time.
5. Teen dances at Convention Hall and Countryside Palace.
6. Cruisin and roadtripping in "Big Red."
7. Taking a car load of girls TP-ing in the "Meat Wagon." One night we did Coach Backer's house and he came out and chased us all the way to Ken's Pizza where I backed into the fence behind the restaurant. The hole was there for a long time!
8. Sr. Week- having a beer fight, running out of gas on the jet ski, watching Schwickrath's trumpet get demolished over the week!
9. Speeding down "Barrett Speedway" to get to McDonalds for lunch everyday.
10. Swooning everytime Coach Armstrong said "Hi" to us in the hallway. He was our "McDreamy."
